Traore Not Worried About His International Future

Adama Traore has told BBC Sport that he is in no hurry to make a decision regarding his international allegiance.

Traore was born in Spain and has represented the Red Fury at all levels of youth football, however, qualifies for Mali through his parents. His older brother chose to play for Mali earlier this year.

The 19-year-old says he is more concerned about performing for Aston Villa than choosing who he will play for at national level. Traore said that playing football at international level ‘isn’t something’ that he was currently considering going on to say that his ‘priority’ was to concentrate on his domestic football for Aston Villa.

Traore signed for Villa from Barcelona in the summer for a fee of £7-million and has so far made three appearances with injuries hampering any chance of further first-team football. The youngster told the BBC “I want to play well for Villa and give my best because as a young footballer I need to challenge myself to reach the top.

He scored he first goal for the Villans in the Capital One Cup against the League 2 side, Notts County. However, he sustained an injury that has meant he hasn’t started a game since.
