Tim Sherwood has left Aston Villa after only several months in charge at the club after a poor start to the season, with David Ornstein from the BBC breaking the news just before a statement from Aston Villa.
Tim Sherwood’s reign started positively after he brought survival to Villa Park after former Villa manager Paul Lambert was sacked in fear of him taking Aston Villa down to the Championship.
Sherwood did take Villa into a FA Cup final during his short time at the club but that wasn’t enough to please Chairman Randy Lerner.
Former Aston Villa caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald will take over again as caretaker manager until a replacement is found. It is said that Sherwood’s coaching team have all gone apart from Tony Parks.
Just not good enough – James Clark’s view
Tim Sherwood proved on several occasions that he isn’t a good enough manager, Paul Lambert would have got more points with this Villa side than Tim Sherwood in my opinion.
I’m afraid it’s another case of hiring the wrong man for the job, square pegs in round holes. We need a manager that can build us slowly forward over a period of time – Brendan Rodgers, David Moyes? Either would fit.
