Aston Villa caretaker manager, Kevin MacDonald has tipped Remi Garde to take over from him on a permanent basis.
In his press conference ahead of Monday’s game, MacDonald also said that Villa will pay it takes to bring the Frenchman to the club.
If they’re desperate to get them then they’ll pay the money.
Garde has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park, however negotiations have come to a standstill after a dispute with Lyon about the backroom staff that he wants to appoint . They are still on the books of Lyon, and they are refusing to allow them to enter talks with Garde or Aston Villa.
He has said that his lack of Premier League managerial experience will not be an issue, using the longest serving Premier League manager as an example of why.
Arsene Wenger came in and never had any Premier League experience
He says that if Villa can remain in the Premier League at the end of the season, then Garde will have succeded in the role that he is believed to be about to take on.
If, at the end of the season, Aston Villa are still in the Premier League then it’s a good appointment
