In light of the hollowing attacks on Paris this past week, Aston Villa fans are planning to show solidarity with the victims of the tragedy by flying French flags in the next home game against Watford.
With the increasing amount of French influence into Aston Villa in the past year, organizer Andy from GTHEB felt it was important to arrange a display to respect those on and off the field. Through a Go Fund Me page, Andy, along with the several Villa fans who donated, raised the sufficient amount of money needed to create the display at Villa Park.

The display will entail 48, 12 by 18-inch, hand flags and 80, 5 by 3-foot, French flags to be strewn across the Lower North Stand. The Lower North was chosen due to its smaller size, which will create a more concentrated and intimate display than if it took place in other stands. Also, the high visibility of the stand on television and throughout the ground will hold the “greatest effect” according to Andy. The display will take place on Saturday, November 28 – Villa’s first Premier League home game since the attacks.

Thanks again to Andy for organizing this and taking the time to answer some of my questions.
