Popular French sports site l’equipe have named Alan Hutton as the best right back in Britain by putting him in ahead of the likes of Nathaniel Clyne and Kyle Walker in their Great Britain best XI.
Hutton has been named alongside stars such as Raheem Sterling, Gareth Bale and Wayne Rooney and is the only Scotsman to feature in the starting XI.
People have expressed their concerns about this decision as they cannot fathom how the Villa man has managed to get himself in the team. Hutton has also come under heavy criticism from Scotland fans who believe that the 30 year old will get picked by Gordon Strachan regardless of his form for his club and would rather see Norwich man Steven Whittaker on the right side of defense.
Hutton has been playing well for Villa this season despite the teams poor form and appears to be a first team regular. When he first made the switch from White Hart Lane he struggled to break into Villa’s starting XI but last season he managed to find some form and tends to feature a lot more for The Villans these days.
