Remi Garde has spoken to the national press this morning ahead of Saturday’s game against Watford. This week’s preparations have been marred by Jack Grealish’s weekend antics with the 20-year old featuring in a video released by the Daily Mail on a boozy night out hours after last weekend’s 4-0 defeat against Everton.
His press conference showed a fight and determination going forward and how important he feels three points are against The Hornets on Saturday.
On the size of the game…
Remi Garde has said that it is his ‘responsibility’ to ‘find some solutions’ with The Villans currently bottom of the Premier League. The Frenchman said that he is ‘not expecting’ an easy fixture against Watford, but he also said he expects a win.
He described the start of the game as ‘important’ but the overall result and performance being just as ‘important’.
On build up…
The Villans manager went on to say that his squad is ‘very well prepared’ describing the contest as a ‘huge’ one.
We have been working hard. I am still very pleased with the way we train, the way they are committed in the training sessions.
On January Window…
The January transfer window is fast approaching and the Villa faithful feel the need for new blood is vital if the side is to avoid relegation. Remi Garde ahead of the window said he will see what is ‘possible’.
He went on to say he main job is to work with the players he has currently available to him though.
Finally Grealish…
Jack Grealish was exposed this week for going out drinking after Villa’s humilating defeat at the hands of Everton. Remi Garde confirmed that Grealish ‘is training’ with the development squad and that he wouldn’t be in the squad to face Watford.
