Former Aston Villa Captain and defender Ron ‘Concrete’ Vlaar has signed back with boyhood club AZ, according to The Guardian.
The Dutch defender left Aston Villa in the summer after his contract expired, opting to reject Villa’s offer at an extension in a hope for a bigger club snapping up his services.
However, Vlaar suffered a huge set back and was set for a stint of 8 months out on the side lines, scaring off all potential suitors.
As a result, Ron Vlaar has been without a club since the summer now but is now set to take up a starting position at AZ providing he can get fit and recover from injury.

Ron ‘Concrete’ Vlaar made 86 appearances during his 3 seasons at Aston Villa, providing an experienced head at the back while players like Nathan Baker and Ciaran Clark developed and graduated through the academy.
