Remi Garde has come out and spoken of his desire to stay with Aston Villa even if the club is relegated, after the Villa manager spoke to L’Équipe.
The transparency from the new Villa manager has been refreshing for all connected with Aston Villa, and he has come out in support of his “project” at the club.
“My discussions with the owner also covered that. I wanted certain assurances, and he said to me that if the club was relegated that the project would remain in place, and that he was counting on me to keep it going. So I am working for the medium-term too.” Garde said, speaking to the publication.

It comes as a surprise to some, especially with Garde’s reputation as an excellent coach during his time in France.
Speaking on how big of an achievement avoiding relegation would be, Garde told the players that’d it’d be like winning the title.
