An abundance of injuries in central defence have resulted in Liverpool asking Aston Villa to cancel Tiago Ilori’s season-long loan from Anfield, according to Andy Hunter of the Guardian.
The Portugal Under-21 international has yet to appear for the Aston Villa this term, but with Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho sidelined, and in-form Dejan Lovren also suffering an injury at Stoke City on Tuesday night, the former Sporting Lisbon defender could have a role at Anfield.
The 22-year-old has not made a competitive appearance for Liverpool since his arrival in the summer of 2013.
