Aston Villa release the valve of a daily working life for so many fans every weekend – releasing the pent-up daily pressures and helping fans like you and me resume daily life after the Saturday game at the weekend.
It’s all about seeing our Villa players perform and giving us hope in a cup, giving us hope of real success – but it comes to a point where some players are only papering over the cracks.

Because of this, we are so angry at the current situation.
A lot in the media are saying the fans reaction to the Wycombe game was the tipping point after four months of gutless performances and no win in 109 days.
This is far from the truth.
It’s been a build up of four years worth of anger, dealing with embarrassing managerial appointments, gross misconduct within the transfer market (Darren Bent et al) and woeful mismanagement of the once promising Villa Youth Academy, which has seen quality players leave the youth set up and perform to a very high standard elsewhere, in some cases our own rivals.

The tipping point for Aston Villa fans is this season.
The Boardroom have a frustrating arrogance, that as long as they push £20-million into players on a yearly basis, we’ll never go down. We’re too big a club to go down, and we don’t deserve to go down because we’re Aston Villa.
This is the kind of attitude, while easy to subscribe to as a die-hard Villa fan, has us destined for Championship Football – Premier League arrogance has us thinking we’re better than we actually are, has us thinking we can use the club as a platform to innovate and create before we have even proved our credibility as a top table side, has us thinking we’re good enough to knock the ball smartly around Villa Park and pick apart teams with smart combination play and passing, but I think Randy Lerner negates to remember that we finished 17th last season, winning 5 games at home for the whole of the season.
We might be a well established Premier League football club thanks to our history, but thanks to our Boardroom – we won’t be for long.
