Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Premier League rivals, Arsenal for a loan deal to bring Mathieu Debuchy to Villa Park.
The Daily Express report that a fee in the region of £1.2m has been agreed with Remi Garde’s side, with the player looking to secure a move away later this month.
Debuchy has confirmed himself that Villa are interested in him but West Bromwich Albion and Serie A side, Roma have also been linked with the right-back.
The loan move away will come as a sigh of relief for the 30-year-old, who is aiming to gain as much first-team football as possible over the next six months, with the European Championship approaching in the summer and his place in France’s squad anything but secured.
The Frenchman joined Arsenal in 2014 for around £12-million from Newcastle United. He has gone on to make only 12 appearances in an Arsenal shirt with injuries and the form of Hector Bellerin.
