Italian site Gianluca Dimarzio have linked Aston Villa with Roma striker Seydou Doumbia.
The Ivorian striker has proved to be a flop at the Italian giants since his €14.4 million transfer last January only netting twice in 13 appearances for i Giallorossi.
The Serie A side sent him back to his former club CSKA Moscow on loan in August but the Russian club have decided not to take him back permanently, despite the striker finding his form again with 11 goals and 5 assists in 21 games for the club.
This now leaves Roma wanting to sell Doumbia, but will he end up at Villa?

As per usual when a player is up for sale, there are a lot of clubs interested.
These clubs include Leicester, Swansea and Turkish side Fenerbahce. Villa are in deep trouble with relegation at the moment and desperately need a striker.
Despite Villa owner Randy Lerner wanting to sell the Midlands club, he may be willing to splash the cash on Doumbia.
The loss of money due to relegation is quite severe and not something the American would want to put up with.

Doumbia would fit well into Villa’s side and would play a crucial role if they were to survive relegation.
