Eric Black has joined Aston Villa’s backroom staff, avfc.co.uk have confirmed.
The former Blackburn and caretaker Rotherham manager has joined Remi Garde in a bid to try and save Aston Villa from the drop.
The new first team coach got straight to work today, helping out with coaching and putting the players through their paces before Saturday’s game.
talking to Villa’s official site, Garde spoke of how he was looking forward to working with him.
Eric brings a wealth of experience and excellent knowledge of English football and he will help me improve the level of the team.
Black, 52 played in France during his playing career as a striker – playing for FC Metz during the 80’s, which suggests to why he has joined up with Remi Garde.
Remi Garde’s backroom staff is starting to take shape after struggling to bring in his own at the beginning of his time at Villa.
Reginald Ray, Robert Duverne, Tony Parks and now Eric Black are Garde’s men in trying to jump Villa out of the relegation zone.
