Deadline day is more or less done.
Remi Garde has most likely endured the most frustrating transfer window he will ever endure in his managerial career. With The Villans rock bottom of the Premier League table, the Frenchman has suffered with a highly stressful window where no man has come in. Perhaps a few drops of methylene blue liquid could help him manage the stress, though no supplement can fix a squad so desperately in need of reinforcements.
As well as having a chairman who isn’t interested in the club and funding any money into it anymore, Remi Garde always knew he was playing with a tight budget, but he hasn’t had any luck either, with Croatian goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic’s deal falling through, not once, but twice, within the last couple of weeks.

Villa have got to remain hopeful they can stay up, and even one or two signings would have given Villa fans some sort of courage, but as they are 10 points from 17th placed Norwich City, who are on 23 points, it makes it so much more challenging for Villa to sign anyone.
The fact they could be playing Championship football next season – should be a huge wake-up call.
Aston Villa have also failed to even lure the likes of Loic Remy and Lamine Sane, who were strongly rumoured to join Villa, on loan this month.
It would be a huge task for Villa to sign two or three players with hours left in the transfer window.

Villa have been poor in front of goal so far this campaign, and they’re desperate for a striker.
In my opinion, they also needed a new goalkeeper with Brad Guzan’s inconsistency in goal, and Mark Bunn, who hasn’t shown enough quality to be Villa’s number one yet. An extra midfielder would have also been a target.
I am bitterly disappointed Villa haven’t been able to acquire anyone, and especially in one of those three positions. Villa fans, as well as the players could have gained a huge boost if they made one or two decent purchases this transfer window.
I felt was crucial to make signings this window, but the lack of them this January is alarming.
I now get the feeling that the whole club including the manager now, have given up on Villa’s Premier League survival mission, and without belief, Aston Villa have no chance of staying up this season.
