Randy Lerner is on the verge of selling Aston Villa for £100 million, according to Neil Moxley of the Sunday People.
Lerner, who has owned Aston Villa since 2006, has been looking to sell Villa since May 2014 when he officially announced his attention to sell the club after years of heavy financial losses.
However, selling the club has been trickier than Lerner could have imagined, with Villa still losing money despite a lack of money being spent on transfers in recent seasons. Moreover, the latest accounts show Villa made a £27.3 million loss last season despite 14 Premier League clubs reporting a profit.
Fortunately however, he finally seems to have found a buyer for Villa, with the Sunday People reporting that a Chinese investment group is in the final stages of completing the takeover.
Futhermore, it is also reported that members of the investment group were in attendance at Villa Park on Saturday, to see Villa draw 0-0 with Newcastle ahead of their proposed takeover.
