Jordan Amavi has insisted he has no regrets about joining Villa last summer despite Villa’s relegation to the Championship after a dreadful Premier League season.
Amavi, speaking in an interview with France Football, said that he has no regrets about joining Villa from Nice last summer,
I adapted and I fitted in well, it’s just a shame that my season was cut short but I do not regret my decision to come here.
There were some very difficult times and we just weren’t able to keep our heads up and fight back.

The French left-back also spoke about the injury he suffered in November whilst playing for the French U-21 side and subsequently kept him out for the rest of the season.
I remember the pain, I remember shouting out in pain. I came back to England and they explained to me that results would be sent straight to the club doctor.
So I went home and I waited for the call. When the telephone rang and he told me that my ligaments were damaged I was speechless.
He also spoke how tough it was for him to watch Villa struggle all season, as Villa went through four different managers in what was a forgettable campaign.
I followed the matches on television. But there is nothing you can do, you are powerless, you see that it is tough but you cannot help them.
However, despite his long injury lay-off, Amavi is looking forward to returning to first team action next season as Villa look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
My time will come to play in the French national team. For now, I want to concentrate on playing a full season.
Let’s hope Amavi continues to build on the promise he showed earlier in the season before his injury.
