Aston Villa are poised to be taken over, with Dr Tony Xia’s £75-million takeover of the club set to go through next week.
John Percy of the Daily Telegraph reports that the Chinese billionaire will meet with Football League officials in London on Monday to finalise the deal that will see Randy Lerner end his controversial stay at Villa Park.

Despite questions over his past business dealing and available funds, it is believed that Dr Xia has provided sufficient evidence that he has the necessary resources to purchase the club.
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness and current chairman Steve Hollis were heavily involved in the prolonged negotiations with both parties but the latter will depart later this month, with Wyness having a major role in the future of Villa, overseeing a restructured board under Xia.

With Xia’s takeover set to be concluded next week, new Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo and assistant Steve Clarke will be officially unveiled shortly after to the public.
The new managerial team will have the tough task of getting Villa back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, but with a reported £30-million transfer kittee, Villa will now have the resources to push for success under Di Matteo and Xia.
