Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Pierluigi Gollini from Hellas Verona for a fee of around £4 million.
Gollini, has represented Italy at U-19 level in the past and was also the subject of interest from Juventus, according to Pat Murphy.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who came through Fiorentina’s youth system, joined Manchester United in 2012. However, he was released by Louis Van Gaal in the summer of 2014 before joining Hellas Verona.

Since joining the Serie A side, Gollini has established himself as their no.1 goalkeeper and his arrival will no doubt mean that at least one of Guzan or Bunn will be looking for a new club this summer.
Both Guzan and Bunn struggled for form last season, with Guzan eventually dropped in January for Bunn as Villa attempted to stop leaking goals. However, it proved to be of no avail as Villa finished with the worst defensive record in the Premier League, conceding 76 goals.
