Real Betis are interested in signing Jordan Veretout, according to Get French Football News.
Veretout, who seemed set to join Marseille last week on loan, returned to the Villa starting XI for last weekend’s friendly against his former side Nantes after his move to the cash strapped French club seemingly collapsed.
However, it seems Veretout could be on his way out of Villa Park after all, with La Liga side Real Betis rumoured to be interested in the signing the 23-year-old.
Veretout joined Villa last summer, as part of Tim Sherwood’s spending binge following the sales of Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph. Despite being costing £9m, Veretout failed to live up to his price tag and disappointed with his performances.
If the former Nantes midfielder leaves Villa permanently, he will become the first player to depart Villa for a fee this summer, although Brad Guzan and Idrissa Gueye are expected to complete their moves to Middlesbrough and Everton over the coming days.,
