The club owner and chairman posted on Twitter this afternoon a picture of him and James Chester, seemingly confirming his move to the club.
“Aha! Hard work everyone! Welcome to Villa! UTA!” Xia captioned the photo.
It’s believed the fee for James Chester is in the region of £10m, after Tony Pulis confirmed that the Baggies were making a £2m profit on his sale.
Chester joined West Brom last summer from Hull City in an £8m deal and made just 19 appearances in all competitions last season, and just nine Premier League starts.
An established Wales international and a crucial part of their successful Euro 2016 team, Chester will bring some defensive stability to the side and we hope he can establish a great partnership with new club captain Tommy Elphick.
