Aston Villa winger Adama Traore has informed the club he wishes to leave before the end of the month, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The former Barcelona youth standout doesn’t feature in Roberto Di Matteo’s plans this season and the winger has now formally asked for a transfer.
A former Spain U19 international, Traore was signed by Tim Sherwood last summer for £8.5m but never really made the grade at Villa Park, making 11 appearances in all competitions last season and scoring once.

The 20-year-old attacker has made one cameo appearance in the Championship under Di Matteo but his torrid time in the Midlands appears to be coming to an end.
Traore is one of the club’s top earners after he signed a £60,000-a-week deal last summer and the club are eager to get his deal off the books.
Villa are looking for players who are more committed to the cause in the Championship and will consider making a loss on Adama Traore to complete a sale.
