Roberto Di Matteo admitted he was left frustrated following his side’s 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town.
Villa, fresh from their first victory of the season against Rotherham United on Saturday, took the game to their opponents in the first-half and were rewarded when Ross McCormack nodded in his first Villa goal in the 25th minute.

Despite Villa’s intensity dropping in the second half, Villa continued to create chances and should have been further ahead through Rudy Gestede.
However, in the 86th minute, Pierluigi Gollini made his second costly mistake of the season, when his attempted clearance hit on rushing Huddersfield forward Michael Hefele and rebounded into an empty net.

Speaking to the media after the game, Di Matteo said:
It was a frustrating ending.
We played a magnificent first half with lots of attacking intensity and energy on the pitch.
We went ahead and had some good opportunities to score a second to kill the game off. We had something like 15 attempts.
It’s something we need to improve on to be able to win games.
He also backed Pierluigi Gollini to improve after he made another costly error, this time leading to Huddersfield’s equalizer.
He is disappointed about it.
He is a young keeper and he will have to learn from this and improve too.
You learn from your mistakes. These are experiences and you learn from good and bad ones.
He’s a strong character. He will certainly get over it.
Villa’s next game is a trip to play Derby County on Saturday night.
