Albert Adomah has turned down the chance to join Aston Villa, according to HITC.
Adomah, who joined Middlesbrough for around £1 million in 2013, has made 143 appearances for the North-East side and was a key part of their side who won promotion back to the Premier League last season.
As a recognition of his performances, Adomah was offered a new deal which he reportedly turned down.
However, despite turning down Middlesbrough’s contract offer, he is set to stay in the North-East after rejecting the chance to become Villa’s eighth signing of the summer.

Despite talks taking place between Villa and his representatives, Adomah is set to stay with Aitor Karanka’s side with the 28-year-old willing to hold out for an improved contract offer.
With only two days left of the transfer window, Roberto Di Matteo will now have to switch his focus to other targets as he looks to bolster a squad which has only won one game so far this season.
