West Ham United are looking to make a deadline day move for Aston Villa defender Micah Richards according to a report.
ESPN say that the Hammers are looking to make a season-long loan move for Richards before the window closes tonight.
Richards moved to Villa Park last summer on a free transfer from Manchester City and was immediately made captain. He struggled though and often had a poor relationship with the fans as the club was relegated from the Premier League for the first time.
He made 24 appearances last season at right back and centre back under both Tim Sherwood and Remi Garde but could well become the seventh casualty of last summer’s recruits come the end of play today.
It is said that Villa would be willing to let Richards leave to ease their wage bill.
The Villans are also said to be allowing Adama Traore leave the club before the window shuts.
