Regardless of what happens in tonight’s game with Brentford, it’s fair to say that Aston Villa have had a mixed start to their Championship season.
With the transfer window now closed, the club can’t look to buy any new players to improve the squad depth, but they could still sign some free agents.
Whilst Roberto Di Matteo might think his current options are good enough, it wouldn’t really hurt to take a look at a few players, even if it’s on a very short-term deal.
We’ve taken a look at some of the players who are currently without clubs and have identified some who we think could do a decent job if the club decided to bring them in.
Provided the wages and signing-on fees aren’t too high, there would be little risk in at least bringing a few of these players in on trial to see what they have to offer.
