Aston Villa legend Dion Dublin has spoken of how the club’s heart has been ‘ripped out’ and that it isn’t really clear where the club is going.
Speaking on the BBC’s Final Score yesterday, Dublin revealed how he had spoken to people in the club about the start to the season.
He claimed that even Di Matteo possibly didn’t know:
Nobody seems to know what’s going on. If they don’t know, the manager doesn’t seem to know at the moment.
The Villans have had a poor start to their Championship season with only one win on the table so far after eleven games with the pressure mounting on Roberto Di Matteo.
I like Robby Di Matteo, I think he’s a good manager. I love the club, but nothing is going right anywhere.
Yesterday was the first time fans properly turned on Roberto Di Matteo with the side going down 2-0 to Preston North End at Deepdale.
I spoke to people at Villa and they said to me the heart’s been ripped out.
They don’t really know where they are, what type of club they are, what are they doing.
Reports have suggested that the pressure is building on Roberto Di Matteo with Dr Tony Xia unhappy with the start to his first season as owner of the West Midlands side.
They host Wolves at home in two weeks time after the international break with many hoping they can chalk another three points on the board.
