Aston Villa have highlighted Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner as a top target as they look to replace Roberto Di Matteo as boss at Villa Park according to a report.
The Guardian report how they will go for the Terriers boss before turning to the unemployed Steve Bruce if a move for Wagner fails.
Wagner’s stock has rose considerably this season with Huddersfield currently top of the Championship with 25 points after eleven games including a point against Aston Villa.
He moved to Huddersfield last season after spending time under Jurgen Klopp as a coach at Borussia Dortmund.
Roberto Di Matteo was sacked as Villa boss this morning after only one win their first eleven and only scoring ten despite a summer of large investment.
The Villans have got through seven managers since Martin O’Neill left in 2010 acrimoniously.
Would you like to see David Wagner as the next man to take the hot seat?
