Aston Villa have moved to appoint a new Head of European Scouting with Ian Atkins moving from Everton.
The official title for Atkins will be ‘Head of European Recruitment’ will see Atkins oversee the restructuring of Villa’s scouting network throughout Europe.
Atkins’ LinkedIn changed to show him leaving his role at Everton where he was the Chief Scout. He was in charge of scouting across Europe at the Toffees including in France, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and Croatia.
He has spent time as a manager and coach including Birmingham City, Bristol Rovers, Carlisle United, Oxford United and Northampton Town.
The West Midlands side Technical Director Steve Round has been tasked with restructuring Villa’s transfer system after many failed years in the transfer market.
Paddy Riley has left the club amongst many casualties from the former ownership under Randy Lerner.
Meanwhile Steve Bruce has confirmed on Goals On Sunday that he has been interviewed about the vacant managerial job at Villa Park.
