Aston Villa scouts were in attendance for the Anderlecht’s clash with German side Mainz in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The Villa scouts have been out in force this week with the team believed to have been at Benfica’s clash with Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday evening.
Other clubs in attendance included West Ham United and AC Milan as teams step up research for new recruits ahead of the January transfer window.

The scouting set up at Villa Park is currently being revamped by technical director Steve Round who has started to expand Villa’s scouting network and also sacked Paddy Riley.
It’s not clear who the club were scouting if anyone but it is still interesting to see that they were out at a Champions League game on Tuesday.
They also recently appointed Everton head scout Ian Atkins as their new Head of European Recruitment and Chief Scout at the start of the month as they look to move their infrastructure in scouting forwards.
