Aston Villa could look to take Joey Barton on upon his contract termination at Scottish Premier League side Rangers according to a report.
The Mirror report that the West Midlands side are keen to bring Joey Barton to the Championship but former club Burnley could also be keen on taking him back to Turf Moor.
Barton has been surrounded in controversy since moving to Rangers in the summer on a free from Burnley. He ran into trouble in September after a training ground bust up and has been suspended ever since.

The former Manchester City midfielder is reported to have been offered a £150,000 pay off at Rangers and will look for a move back to England. He has only made eight appearances since moving to Ibrox.
Steve Bruce is overseeing a transformation in fortune at Villa Park with the side unbeaten in their past five games but the midfield still remains lightweight with Ashley Westwood, Mile Jedinak, Gary Gardner and Aaron Tshibola the only options in the centre of midfield.
