Aston Villa were unlucky not to take three points away from the AMEX Stadium on Friday evening as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was a shaky start for the Villans with chances going begging for Brighton but Villa turned the corner midway through the first half.
Nathan Baker opened up the scoring with a superbly guided header past David Stockdale after a neatly guided free kick in from Albert Adomah.
The lead didn’t last though with Brighton hitting back just before half time through a Glen Murray strike from just outside the box.
After the break, you’d have been forgiven for thinking that Villa were the home side with the Midlands side testing Stockdale on numerous occasions.
Jonathan Kodjia battered the bar as the corner count rose but Steve Bruce’s side couldn’t find a winner.
The only real chance in the second half for Brighton was well dealt with by Pierluigi Gollini.
