Steve Bruce is looking to offload a number of fringe players in his Aston Villa squad to make room for some January acquisitions.
One of the players who appears to be on the way out is left-back Aly Cissokho who’s on the verge of completing a loan move to Greek giants Olympiakos until the end of the season.

Pictured above arriving in Greece ahead of a medical with Olympiakos, Cissokho has experience of leaving Villa Park on loan deals in the past.
After an unimpressive first season with the club following a £2m transfer from Valencia, the France international joined Porto on a season-long loan during the 2015/16 season, a deal which was cut short in January and he return to the club.
The 29-year-old was a regular under Roberto Di Matteo but since Steve Bruce took charge of the club he’s made two Championship appearances and hasn’t featured in a league game since mid-October having lost his place to Jordan Amavi.
Cissokho is poised to join Olympiakos on loan with a view to buy say the Birmingham Mail, and he’s seemingly happy about the move.
“I am very happy and proud to be here on behalf of Olympiakos. There are still some typical details to be completed, such as medical tests. Once they are completed, I can celebrate my transfer to Olympiakos,” Cissokho said.
