Aston Villa continued their impressive run of form, beating an uninspired Norwich City side at Villa Park 2-0.
Norwich, under the caretaker charge of former West Brom boss Alan Irvine, put out a terrible display that was only made worse when Ivo Pinto was sent off late on.
Jonathan Kodjia scored twice to practically end the Canaries play-off hopes and give Villa all three points. Norwich looked threatening at some stages of the match, but in truth, Steve Bruce’s men were just too good for them.
Scott Hogan went down with a suspected ankle injury which forced the January arrival from Brentford off the field. Steve Bruce said that the switch was only precautionary and that it shouldn’t be a very serious injury.
Villa’s playoff hopes are still a long shot, with 10 points now separating them from 6th placed Fulham but it’ll be nice to end the season with a decent run.
