It’s been a highly turbulent season for Aston Villa, but one that will see them secure mid-table obscurity in their first campaign back in the second tier of English football.
Expectation was high upon Villa’s relegation to the Championship and with the combination of new owner Tony Xia, new manager Roberto Di Matteo and a plethora of fresh faces through the door at the club, the future looked to be bright.
However after several inconsistencies and concerns over where the season was headed, Di Matteo was replaced by Steve Bruce and since then, the experienced boss has steadied the ship at Villa Park.
Now, they sit in 11th place; away from the relegation zone but still 11 points adrift of the play-off positions.
There are just five games remaining for Villa and they’ll be looking to end the 2016/17 season on a high. So, how many points will they finish with?
We’ve had our say.
