Looking back at the season on the whole, it’s been a disappointment for Aston Villa.
In a season where they were expected to mount a serious challenge for the league title like fellow relegated side Newcastle who went on to win the league, they got off to a stuttering start which led to Roberto Di Matteo’s sacking.
Steve Bruce replaced him in the dugout but Villa were unable to put a consistent run of performances together and finished in 13th, well adrift of the play-offs let alone the promotion places.
Given the benefit of the doubt, Bruce will have next season to try and take Villa back up into the Premier League but he will need to conduct a serious overhaul of his underachieving squad in the summer – but who do you think deserves to stay at the club and who needs to go?
