Tommy Elphick was the first man through the door last summer for Aston Villa, but it’s looking as though he may very well be on his way out when the coming window rolls around.
According to a report from the Birmingham Mail today, the experienced defender is considering his future at Villa Park.
Elphick, who signed in a surprise deal from AFC Bournemouth, was Roberto Di Matteo’s first signing. He’s fallen heavily out of favour with Steve Bruce, though, and could seek a move.

James Chester has now become the regular captain of Villa and has secured his place in the team, fending off Elphick for both accolades in the process.
Bruce appears keen on bolstering his defensive options this summer as he looks to push Villa up the table for next season. This could spell the end for Elphick, who has been struggling to break into the team.
He’s not getting any younger, and with first team opportunities looking to be unlikely next season, Elphick may see it as a good chance to secure a move elsewhere this summer.
