Aston Villa are considering a second approach for Burnley winger George Boyd as he is set to leave Turf Moor this summer, according to a report in the Birmingham Mail.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Burnley expires this summer and he has rejected the offer of a new one-year-deal from the Premier League side.
Boyd is hoping for a club to offer him a three-year-deal, but Aston Villa are weary of offering him a lengthy deal at this stage in his career.
Steve Bruce tried to sign Boyd in January but the wideman decided to see out the remainder of the season at Burnley.
Villa will have a battle on their hands as they try once again to buy Boyd’s signatures, with Derby County also being heavily linked with his services.
Boyd made 39 appearances for Burnley last season, helping the club to retain their Premier League status.
