Aston Villa have told Sevilla to double their offer for full-back Jordan Amavi after Villa rejected the first bid tabled by the La Liga side, according to MARCA..
Amavi looks increasingly likely to leave Villa Park this summer as the Championship side look to raise funds for new signings.
Villa chairman Tony Xia bragged that the club rejected a £25million bid for Amavi in January, but the Financial Fair Play restrictions on the club now mean that they are willing to accept a much lower offer for the player.
Sevilla made an opening bid of £5.3million for the defender’s services but Villa are wanting to recoup the £9million they paid Nice for the 23-year-old back in 2015.
Amavi struggled for form at Villa last season as Steve Bruce’s side slumped to a 13th place finish in the Championship, with the Villa boss reportedly placing Amavi on the transfer list as a result of his inconsistency.
