It looks like Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone could well be on his way to Middlesbrough, not Aston Villa.
Many Villa fans had assumed that the goalkeeper would make his loan spell at Villa Park a permanent switch but it’s looking like that will no longer be the case, which leaves Steve Bruce and company looking for a new man to put between the sticks.
