John Ruddy has admitted that a move to Aston Villa would interest him, according to the Daily Mirror.
With former Chelsea captain John Terry set to sign on a free this summer, Ruddy would like to be the next former England international to join Steve Bruce at Villa Park.
The 30-year-old wants his future sorted as quick as possible and when asked about the possibility of joining Villa this summer, Ruddy said:
Well, it’s a massive club with a superb infrastructure. Everyone knows Villa should be in the Premier League and I would love to be a part of making that happen.
The former Norwich goalkeeper is available on a free transfer after mutually agreeing to leave Carrow Road at the end of last season.
Ruddy has been linked with a move to the Premier League with West Ham weighing up a move, and clubs in the MLS this summer also interested, however, Ruddy has stated he would happily stay in the Championship if the right offer came up.
Villa are in the market for a goalkeeper and with competition fierce for Sam Johnstone, they could turn their attention to Ruddy in the short term.
