Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Southampton youngster Sam Gallagher in recent times, and Steve Bruce has confirmed that he is keen to strike a deal for the promising forward.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Saints have made the young forward available for loan this season, and a number of Championship clubs are circling for his signature.
Bruce admitted that Gallagher is a player he’s looking to sign this summer:
Every club in the Championship has been linked with him. It’s something we’re looking at us.
He interests us yes.
Gallagher spent last season on loan with Blackburn. Although they suffered relegation to League One, the powerful striker impressed and has subsequently caught the eye of many.
The 21-year-old didn’t feature regularly in pre-season for Saints and failed to make the bench against Swansea.
Having signed a new four-year deal at St Mary’s, Gallagher will be keen to get as much playing time under his belt as possible, and Villa could provide him with this.
