Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Middlesbrough youngster Marcus Tavernier.
The promising wide man has been in good form recently for Boro in the Championship and according to a report from the Daily Mail, Villa have been keeping a close eye on him.
Tavernier’s recent form has earned him a regular place in the England Under-19 side as well. He made his debut for his country’s youth side in the recent international break and featured in three games against the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Bulgaria.

The 18-year-old has only emerged on the first-team scene with Middlesbrough this season and has made a total of six appearances at senior level with the club.
However, in this short space of time, the winger has impressed and has established himself as one of the Championship’s most promising young talents.
Aston Villa are not alone in their interest, though. The Daily Mail states that both Arsenal and Everton are also monitoring Tavernier’s progress.
