It has been reported by Get West London that Aston Villa have looked at Limerick’s young Irish sensation Chiedozie Ogbene.
The Irish forward has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs with Chelsea and Brentford both also checking out the 20-year-old.
Chelsea are reportedly leading the chase for the young starlet. Ogbene reportedly spent time at Chelsea’s Cobham training facility over the Christmas period. He has also spent some time using a host of other English club’s facilities as he looks to impress. Limerick have been preparing themselves for bids for their youngster this month.
During Dr Tony Xia’s short time as owner of Aston Villa, player recruitment has had a focus on youth, with young defensive pair James Bree and Jacob Bedeau both arriving last January. Youngsters already at the club have also been bled into the first team with Andre Green and Keinan Davis both featuring for Villa multiple times in the Championship this season.

The young Irishman’s addition to the Villa squad could prove to be a very clever piece of business if they get a deal done. The youngster could add some more attacking flair to a Villa squad, which is pushing for promotion, as well as adding to Villa’s youthful contingent.
