It would seem Aston Villa have won the race for Sheffield Wednesday’s Sean Clare, despite numerous Premier League sides chasing him.
Villa are looking to sign a goalkeeper, left-back and a prolific centre-forward this summer. The unproven youngster ,who was on loan at Gillingham just a few months ago, looks to be heading to Villa Park.
Aston Villa have beaten some pretty big clubs to get Clare, who scored against Steve Bruce’s side for Sheffield Wednesday to cap a fantastic individual performance back in March.
This weekend, Villa will take on Fulham at Wembley for a place in the Premier League, if Villa do get themselves back into the Premier League, then they will certainly need to bring in players to boost the strength of the squad.
A prolific centre-forward is top on the transfer target list for the Midlands club as if they do win promotion to England’s top flight, they will need a goalscorer to help maintain their survival.
