Aston Villa have completed the signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Andre Moreira, according to a report from Portuguese news source Record.
It’s claimed in the report that Moreira will arrive at Villa Park on an initial loan deal, but Steve Bruce’s side will be afforded the opportunity to activate an option to buy clause should they be impressed with the ‘keeper.
Atletico snapped up the goalkeeper in 2014 after he emerged through the youth ranks at Ribeirão, but he has not yet made a senior appearance for Diego Simeone’s side.

Moreira has been sent out on loan to a number of clubs in his homeland of Portugal since the move, but according to Record, his confirmation as a Villa player is imminent.
The 22-year-old has reportedly been in England this week to stage further negotiations with officials from Villa, with a deal having apparently been closed.
Following Sam Johnstone’s loan deal reaching its conclusion at the end of last season, Villa needed to add further quality to their goalkeeping ranks this summer. It seems they have identified Moreira as the man to fill the void.
