Steve Bruce has revealed that Villa’s key players are not for sale after the recent investment that the club have received.
Speaking after his side’s 2-1 victory over Dynamo Dresden, the Aston Villa boss revealed that despite speculation, the club is now in no need to sell it’s best players after it’s financial worries were ended by the recent investment.
Grealish had been a target for Tottenham Hotspur, with Spurs lining up a bid for the midfielder. James Chester and Jonathan Kodija had also been linked with moves away from Villa Park.

However, Bruce said, via AVFC.co.uk:
“The one thing that the pair of them have said it that nobody is for sale. That’s music to my ears.
We don’t want to lose our best players. We all know in football that unfortunately these things happen.
But we will now be doing our utmost to make sure these things do not happen and not let them go anywhere.
The new owners coming in has helped.
Bruce also paid tribute to Dr Tony Xia, who did attempt to right his wrongs at Villa, but was forced to seek new investment, with Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens coming in as new majority owners.
I appreciate what Dr Tony did, too. He had a tough time but there’s no doubting his commitment to the club.
Let’s just hope the new owners can help get Villa back to where they should be.
It’s going to take time but hopefully we can now look forward.
