Aston Villa got their Championship campaign underway with a 3-1 victory over Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.
Steve Bruce’s men fell behind after just seven minutes when Evandro’s lobbed cross evaded everybody and found its way into the back of the net.
However, goals from Tommy Elphick, Ahmed El Mohamady and Alan Hutton were enough to secure a win for Villa, one which will hopefully lift the spirits of the supporters after a very turbulent summer.
