Lille’s financial problems are continuing to escalate, an issue that Aston Villa are familiar with, but Villa could be one of the sides who benefit as they look to sign Anwar El Ghazi.
As reported by L’Équipe, via GFFN, Lille need to raise €30m or they’ll face further sanctions from DNCG, the French football financial watchdog.

Until they raise the money, they will not be able to play new signings Loic Remy, Rafael Leao and Jeremy Pied and as such, they are looking to sell some of their players.
One of those players is winger El Ghazi, who is a target for fellow French clubs Rennes and St Etienne. However, both Aston Villa and Leeds United are interested in taking the 23-year-old on a deal that would see him initially join on loan, with a clause built in that will allow them to purchase him in the next transfer window.
