Aston Villa appear to have moved ahead of Middlesbrough in the race to sign Yannick Bolasie on loan from Everton.
According to claims from Birmingham Live, Steve Bruce’s side could complete a deal for the DR Congo international after staging positive negotiations with the player on Tuesday.
Bolasie has been deemed surplus to Marco Silva’s requirements for the season ahead at Everton, meaning that he will be allowed to depart on a temporary basis.

Middlesbrough were believed to be closing in on the signing of Bolasie but according to Birmingham Live, Villa could complete a deal for the player in the next 24 hours.
The 29-year-old looks set to make his decision in the near future and is likely to choose between a move to Villa or Boro on Wednesday, with the transfer window deadline coming at the end of August.
Boro and Villa are both set to be chasing promotion to the Premier League this season and Bolasie’s arrival would undoubtedly strengthen either side’s hopes.
