The Championship promotion-chasers have been targeting a new forward for some time now and on the final day for EFL clubs to recruit players on loan, they have secured Abraham’s services.

Abraham, who has often flourished for England’s Under-21 side, spent last season on loan at Swansea City. He impressed on occasions but could not prevent the club’s relegation down to the Championship.
Previously, he enjoyed a spell on loan at Bristol City, where he emerged as a talismanic figure for the club, firing on a regular basis.
Steve Bruce will now hope that he has the sufficient attacking firepower to help mount a genuine promotion push this season.
